Dream big, take a leap of faith, because if you reach out for the stars, you will definitely touch the moon.
Starting out as a young person with dreams in a small city was not easy. I was always asked to dream big, but I did not have any role models who I could exemplify, and seek guidance from. My passion for learning was my saving grace, it kept me going. It enabled me to set a vision for myself, a set of goals for my life, which I wanted to achieve.
But as a student, I never thought of going the extra mile, and stuck to the books and the theoretical knowledge that was imparted in college. I actually understood the importance of practical, real-world knowledge when I first stepped into the professional world. Humble beginnings did not deter me, in fact, I took it up as a challenge to cross the boundaries of my comfort zone. I understood that in order to become a better professional, I had to seek additional resources and gather all the help required. That is when Scaler came in.
My first perception of Scaler was stellar, I was highly impressed by their extensive curriculum. I enrolled in the course almost immediately, and in retrospect, I can easily say that it was a wonderful decision. The first month was difficult, as I had to juggle between my work commitments and the course. But eventually, it all fell into place. I started putting in more hours, worked harder on improving my knowledge of the practical side of things, and did not give up. My main focus was on learning more about building complex programs and solutions, and with the guidance of the teachers and mentors, I furthered my learning curve with renewed interest and vigour. Soon enough, I witnessed the results through improved interview experiences. Equipped with new skills and a broadened knowledge horizon, I got placed at my current company.
At my current company, I love my work, because I know my contributions are making a difference in people's lives. For me, work is not always about the end package you get, or about the social stature you gain, but is about the difference you make in someone else's life. At my current company, I am constantly learning and growing as we engage with the latest technologies and build people-oriented solutions, which makes all the efforts worth it.
Looking back, I have to say that if I have the confidence today to approach a problem of any complexity with a calm mind, I would like to attribute that to my learning curve at Scaler and my hard work and dedication.
I look at life as a journey, and it has been a roller-coaster ride. There were several ups and downs in this journey, challenges and obstacles, but in overcoming them lies the real essence of life. And I am just starting out, as Robert Frost said, 'I have miles to go before I sleep.'
